When the films in the ‘A Force More Powerful’ series were first screened on SBS in Australia and the dvds became available, the Change Agency team were quick to recognise their potential as training resources.
We organised screenings of ‘Bringing down a Dictator’ and led discussions based on the FMP coverage of the US civil rights movement, non-violent struggle in India and other successful social movements. More recently, Mike Barker has critically discussed the funding sources for this video series and its accompanying computer game, challenging activists to learn about the work of democracy promoters such as the National Endowment for Democracy.
