This workshop throws participants into a realistic campaign scenario where they build alliances, identify and lobby decision-makers, convene public meetings, issue media releases and develop strategy on the run. New trigger events keep coming, forcing players to react, organise and strategise. The scenario is interspersed by debriefings to analyse tactics and their results. The role-play condenses and extracts the learning that campaigners might otherwise take months to acquire. Then we create opportunities for people to reflect on their experiences, generalise and plan for action.
In recent years, we have designed and facilitated scenario-based workshops of between half a day and three days, with between six and sixty participants. The scenarios are as realistic as possible, and provide opportunities for activists to appreciate the actions and perspectives of all stakeholders. Expect the unexpected.
